Communities of Practice–Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (COP-RCORP) – On September 10th, 2025, the Ashtabula County Mental Health and Recovery Services (MHRS) Board hosted the quarterly meeting of the Communities of Practice–Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (COP-RCORP). COP-RCORP, led through Ohio University and the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation (PIRE), is supported by funding from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) grant.
Counties represented in COP-RCORP include Ashtabula, Fairfield, Sandusky, and Seneca. Together, prevention, treatment, and recovery partners collaborate across these regions to reduce opioid-related harms, strengthen recovery supports, and share strategies that benefit individuals, families, and communities.
The Ashtabula County MHRS Board was delighted to host our partners and show the unique charm and spirit of Ashtabula County. Guests were given a tour of local landmarks, including the Smolen-Gulf Bridge, Lakeshore Park, historic Bridge Street, and Walnut Beach. A special thank you goes to Briquettes Smokehouse for offering a wonderful lunch and to Sunset Transportation for providing excellent transportation services that helped make the visit both welcoming and memorable.
