The Project Fair which was hosted by the Ashtabula Arts Center included highlighting student projects and partnerships with local organizations that connect the student leaders with multiple resources, as well as expanding their knowledge about the needs of our community. As pictured is one group that teamed up with the Ashtabula Mental Health and Recovery Services Board to highlight information regarding Question, Persuade, Refer, or QPR. QPR is a suicide prevention training that teaches participants to recognize the warning signs of suicide and to question, persuade, and how to refer people at risk for suicide to help available. The intent is to identify and interrupt the crisis and direct an individual to proper care.
The next QPR Training which is available to anyone in the community and at no cost is scheduled for June 8, 2024, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the Jefferson United Methodist Church; 125 East Jefferson Street. Register at https://www.ashtabulamhrs.org/event/qpr-training-june-8-2024/
