Stigma: Attitudes, Words, Actions, and Why They Matter – Presented by: Matt Butler

This course will provide information about stigma around substance use and the real-world impacts of that stigma. Discussion will include how those attitudes, words, and actions affect people with a substance use disorder, their families, and their communities and what can be done about it.

Dual Diagnosis in Treatment Planning – Presented by: Diedre Fleming

This course will provide an overview of the treatment planning needs of persons with a dual diagnosis. The course will include sample treatment plans for a person diagnosed with a co-occurring disorder.

Integrated Individualized Treatment Planning – Presented by: Joleen Sundquist

This course will outline how to develop a client-centered, treatment plan that is Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound (SMART). Emphasis is placed on the individual’s desired treatment outcomes while integrating the client’s treatment team and desired support system. The course will demonstrate how the treatment plan becomes the “golden thread” that ensures cohesive care from assessment through discharge.

This course will review the stages of group dynamics and the meaning of cultural humility. Case scenarios will be provided with an opportunity for discussion.
